Supporting People Through Business Change
With uncertainty across certain markets, global tariffs squeezing margins and businesses reevaluating costs we have partnered with a number of large businesses to support workforce planning, strategic hiring and, unfortunately in some cases, redundancies.
As a people centred organisation ACR is committed to offering our clients a service that forms a true partnership between our businesses. That means being there through the difficult decisions too, when people need support, reassurance and practical guidance.
Many of you may be aware a local food manufacturing site in Spalding began redundancy conversations a number of months ago. With the aim of reducing costs and improving efficiencies, the business made the decision to move production to a single site, putting 290 jobs at risk.
As a local recruitment consultancy, we felt a responsibility to support both the business and its employees through this process. We provided CV writing guidance to staff and attended an on-site redundancy careers day organised by the manufacturer.
Throughout the day, we had the opportunity to sit down with employees whose redundancies had been confirmed, listen to their concerns, discuss their experience and offer advice on their next steps. Following these conversations we were able to secure interviews for many of these workers with other local employers, helping them move forward at an uncertain time.
The feedback, gratitude and warmth we have received from the people we have supported has been heartwarming. The manufacturer’s Operations Director also took the time to personally thank us for our help. While that recognition means a great deal it is knowing that our support has made a difference to those facing the loss of their jobs that matters most.
Putting people at the heart of our work means showing up when it counts. At ACR we care deeply about our local community and remain committed to helping jobseekers through difficult times with practical support and a personal approach.
If your business is going through a similar transformation we would love to connect, share what we have learnt and explore how we can support you and your employees. Together, we can help make Cambridgeshire and the surrounding counties a prosperous and inclusive working community.
