We’re working with an established and fast-paced FMCG client in Cambridgeshire who is looking to add a Packaging Technologist to their growing team.
This is a varied role where you’ll work across multiple new product development projects, managing packaging requirements from initial concept and supplier briefing through to artwork, specifications, testing, production trials and final launch.

Working closely with suppliers and internal teams, you’ll be responsible for developing packaging solutions that are commercially viable, technically robust and delivered on time.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing packaging development across multiple NPD projects
- Working closely with suppliers on component specifications, tooling, artwork and testing
- Coordinating colour matching, cutter guides and specification approvals
- Managing packaging documentation, specifications and pallet plans
- Supporting packaging trials and first production runs
- Identifying risks, resolving technical issues and keeping projects on track
- Working cross-functionally with NPD, production and wider internal teams
- Supporting continuous improvement across packaging processes
About You
We’re looking for someone who can combine technical packaging knowledge with strong project management skills.
You’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience within packaging development, FMCG or manufacturing
- Good knowledge of packaging components and production processes
- Experience working with materials such as plastic and glass
- Confidence managing several projects simultaneously
- Experience dealing directly with packaging suppliers
- Strong attention to detail and an organised approach
- The ability to work effectively across different departments
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- Previous manufacturing experience would be advantageous
Why Apply?
