Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Sandy  – £38k Plus overtime

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer’s Key Responsibilities:

·      Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across a range of production and workshop machinery, ensuring issues are resolved swiftly to minimise downtime.

·      Diagnose faults, identify root causes, and implement long‑lasting repairs.

·      Support the installation, commissioning, and modification of equipment to improve performance or meet changing production needs.

·      Complete routine maintenance checks in line with established schedules, keeping clear records and identifying areas for improvement.

·      Assist with general site maintenance tasks, including basic electrical, plumbing, and facility-related work when required.

·      Maintain a safe working environment by following company procedures, contributing to continuous improvements, and promoting best practice.

·      Work collaboratively with production, engineering, and quality teams, ensuring clear communication and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.


Skills & Experience Required as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer:

·      Strong mechanical maintenance background within a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment.

·      Confident working with workshop machinery and mechanical systems such as motors, bearings, hydraulics, and fabrication equipment.

·      Ability to interpret technical drawings and diagnose mechanical faults methodically.

·      Basic electrical awareness (e.g., safe isolation, simple wiring tasks) is beneficial but not essential.

·      Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload during busy periods.

·      A reliable, safety‑conscious approach with good communication skills and a willingness to support team members.
