Mechanical Assembler/Fitter – Sandy – Up to £38,000

As a Mechanical Assembler/Fitter, you’ll work on a wide variety of bespoke machinery used across processing environments, contributing to high‑quality equipment built to exceptional standards. Mechanical Assembler/Fitter’s Key Responsibilities:

• Assemble and fit manufacturing components to a high standard
• Strip, rebuild, and fit mechanical motors
• Build and install air pneumatics
• Assemble and fit bearing housings
• Work confidently from engineering drawings
• Build special‑purpose machinery
• Support the safe running of production areas, following Health & Safety requirements
• Use a range of hand tools and mechanical equipment proficiently
• Maintain good housekeeping and uphold high levels of quality and discipline
• Follow internal processes and production expectations

Skills & Experience Required as a Mechanical Assembler/Fitter:

• Previous experience in mechanical fitting or assembly roles
• Strong understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings
• Proficiency with hand tools and mechanical equipment
• Experience working with pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, or motor rebuilds
• Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently
• Engineering qualifications such as City & Guilds are advantageous
• Strong awareness of Health & Safety
• Good communication and organisational skills
