Maintenance Engineer

Location: Sheffield

Salary: £38,000 - £45,000 PA + overtime

Shift: PM shift, 2:30pm - 11:45pm

This Maintenance Engineer role is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated, hard-working engineer with an electrical bias to join a forward-thinking family run business where no two shifts are the same.

Working as part of a busy engineering and production team, you will be responsible for keeping essential equipment running efficiently, responding quickly to breakdowns, carrying out planned maintenance and supporting improvements across the site. This is a hands-on Maintenance Engineer position suited to someone who enjoys solving problems, working at pace and making a visible impact every day.

As a Maintenance Engineer your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out repairs, planned preventative maintenance, fault finding and diagnostic analysis across production equipment
• Responding quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime and keep production moving efficiently
• Supporting installation, commissioning, testing and validation of engineering equipment and systems
• Working closely with production and management teams to identify improvements across equipment, processes and site performance
• Ensuring all engineering work is completed safely and in line with relevant standards, procedures and health and safety requirements

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will need:

• Proven experience within a maintenance engineering role, ideally with a strong electrical bias
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to engineering challenges
• Confidence working on production equipment within a fast-paced operational environment
• Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering, production and management teams
• A recognised engineering qualification would be advantageous, and experience within a commercial laundry environment would be beneficial
