Learning Support Assistant (12-Month FTC, Part-Time)
 
Are you a passionate and dedicated educator with a talent for supporting learners with additional needs?
We are a leading training provider, seeking a compassionate and proactive Learning Support Assistant to join our team on a 12-month, fixed-term contract. This is a part-time role, working 2 days per week (08:30 - 17:00), and offers a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of adult learners.
 
In this varied role, you will be instrumental in supporting learners with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) to develop the skills and strategies they need to succeed in their studies. You will also have the chance to deliver Maths and English Functional Skills up to Level 2.
 
This position offers a great blend of remote and face-to-face work, with approximately 75% of your time working remotely and 25% spent in a classroom setting, delivering essential support.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide dedicated one-to-one and group support to adult learners with ALN, both remotely and in classroom settings.
  • Develop and implement effective, individualised learning plans to help learners manage their needs and achieve their goals.
  • Deliver engaging Maths and English Functional Skills lessons to small groups of learners.
  • Accurately track, monitor, and report on learner progress and the impact of support provided.
  • Create and maintain inclusive learning resources tailored to different learning styles and needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the training team to ensure a consistent, high-quality learning experience for all.
  • Uphold safeguarding, health and safety, and compliance standards at all times.
What We Are Looking For:
  • Proven experience providing support to individuals in an educational setting, particularly those with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
  • Experience working with and understanding the needs of adult learners.
  • Direct experience delivering Maths and English Functional Skills up to Level 2.
  • A relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, confident in engaging learners face-to-face, in writing, and virtually.
  • A flexible, proactive, and solution-focused approach.
  • Strong record-keeping and organisational skills.
Logistics & Requirements:
  • Contract: 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract (FTC)
  • Hours: 2 days per week, 08:30 - 17:00
  • Work Pattern: 75% Remote, 25% Face-to-Face (classroom-based)
  • Travel: Occasional travel to other centres will be required. You must be a driver with access to your own vehicle.
