Anne Corder is working with a growing UK manufacturing business is looking for an organised, proactive and commercially aware Finance Assistant to join its finance team.

This is a varied role offering broad exposure across transactional finance, management accounting and commercial finance. Working closely with the Finance Director, you'll have the opportunity to develop your accounting experience and gain exposure beyond traditional accounts processing.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and accurately code supplier invoices and credit notes.
• Maintain purchase and sales ledgers and resolve queries.
• Monitor outstanding customer balances and support credit control.
• Process and reconcile daily banking transactions.
• Complete bank, supplier and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end close, accruals and prepayments.
• Support VAT and other statutory reporting.
• Maintain accurate financial records within Xero and other systems.
• Assist with management accounts, financial analysis and ad-hoc finance projects.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and controls.

About You

You'll have previous experience in an accounts or finance role and a good understanding of purchase ledger, sales ledger and bank reconciliations.

We're looking for someone with:

• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Confident communication skills with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
• Commercial awareness and an interest in the wider business.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable: AAT/ACCA/CIMA study or qualification, Xero experience, previous SME or manufacturing experience, and exposure to month-end management accounts.
