This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and detail-driven Finance Assistant looking to move beyond purely transactional work and gain exposure to costing, reporting, and business-critical financial analysis within a manufacturing environment.
The Role
As a Finance Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes, working closely with the Finance Manager and wider team.
This is not your typical ledger-only position, this Finance Assistant role offers real variety and the chance to get involved in meaningful financial insight and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing Sales Ledger activities, including invoicing, allocations, and credit control
- Supporting Purchase Ledger processes, ensuring accuracy and timely payments
- Assisting with month-end duties including journals, reconciliations, and reporting
- Contributing to costing and analysis relating to manufactured products
- Supporting the production of financial reports, forecasts, and cashflow data
- Working with ERP systems (including Sage X3) and supporting system/process improvements
About You
To be successful in this Finance Assistant role, you will:
- Have experience across Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger
- Be confident working with data and keen to develop analytical skills
- Have a proactive mindset with strong attention to detail
- Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Ideally have exposure to ERP systems (training can be provided)
- AAT study or similar would be beneficial but not essential
