Are you a hands-on Engineering Technician who enjoys seeing an idea go from an engineering drawing to a working machine? This is an opportunity to join a successful UK engineering manufacturer and play a key role in developing the next generation of Machinery. As a Product Development Technician, you’ll work alongside Engineers and Test & Validation specialists, building prototypes, solving practical engineering problems and helping turn new designs into fully working machines.

Product Development Technician – Milton Keynes – £34,500 Plus overtime


Product Development Technician’s Key Responsibilities:

·       Build and assemble prototype and development working across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.

·       Work closely with Design Engineers to implement new concepts, component layouts and design improvements.

·       Identify and resolve practical build issues, using your hands-on experience to improve manufacturability, serviceability, reliability and performance.

·       Support design changes and product improvement activity throughout the development process, providing clear practical feedback to the wider engineering team.

·       Maintain a safe, organised and efficient development environment while supporting Health & Safety requirements and wider team objectives.

 

Skills & Experience Required as a Product Development Technician:

·       Relevant engineering qualification such as an HNC, HND or completed engineering apprenticeship, supported by practical hands-on experience.

·       Practical experience of mechanical assembly, with exposure to hydraulic and electrical systems and a good understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes.

·       Confident using a wide range of hand and power tools, with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.

·       Strong practical problem-solving skills, with the initiative to work independently and find solutions when working with new or changing designs.

·       Good communication and teamwork skills, with strong attention to detail, time management and basic computer literacy including Microsoft Office.
