Maintenance Operative

Our client, a commercial office rental provider, specialising in small offices, workshops and self-storage units, is looking for a Maintenance Operative to assist in the upkeep of the units across Peterborough, Milton Keynes, Northampton, Nuneaton and Coventry.

Experience within facilities management would be desirable but general ‘handyman’ and DIY skills are essential.

Due to the nature of the work, there is an element of compliance and H&S to adhere to.

Some of the duties will include:

  • Basic property repair such as drain blockages and replacing floor tiles.
  • Clearing low level guttering.
  • Filling in cracks and touching up paint work.
  • Ensuring the offices are clean and removing any carpet stains.
  • Checking facilities work such as lights and replacing bulbs where necessary.
  • Testing fire alarms and other tests (compliance training will be given for this).
  • Assisting with general refurbishment and removing old furniture.

The role is based in Kettering, Northants, but you will be required to travel to all the areas listed above, depending on where the work is required.  A van and tools will be provided.  This role naturally requires a large amount of physical work but also a fair amount of driving between sites.
